Rainy Days

I mean, we didn't want the rain. We were trying to take pictures. But tonight was fun and refreshing. So thank you rain.

This night Alyx and I went to Smiths and made this music video to Brave by Sara Bareilles. My family had a "competition" going for who could make the best video to this song but they all did it in their own living rooms. We decided to mix it up.

Knowing Life is About to Change

(Hot air balloon festival somewhere in Utah 2013)
The time I got obsessed with tiny video collages because I knew it would all be gone soon...

Pre-Mission Thoughts

With my time coming up so close and with it being on the brink of fall, I've been dying to get out in the changing colors and just pretend like its late October/November just for the last couple of weeks that I'm here. Summer is definitely over in my head. It's fall now...and I want to do fally things.

It feels like this summer was three different summers. I mean, it lasted from May until September. Longest summer ever. I really can't complain. I had a lot of fun. Sometimes I think I'm a really introverted weirdo, which I am, but I had my share of social which was good! Between family adventures, numerous hikes, camp outs, mini cabin trips, and the plethora of lunches with girlfriends I would say it was a successful summer.

But seriously, can it be fall now?

Mother's Day

This year I have been reminded over and over again of how much my mom means to me and does for me. She gave me my life and I've known her longer than anyone else! I also have been reminded of how much my grandma does for me and how great of a mother and grandmother she has been! I have some of the most amazing women in my life to look up to. My mom, my grandma(s), all of my aunts, and my step mom are all the best examples to me. I LOVE the mothers in my life!

To Remember

I need to remember this each and every day.

Les Mis

Okay, I am obsessed with Les Miserables. I've gone through I think 2 other times in my life where it's all I want to listen to and I just can't seem to get myself to stop, and I'm right in the middle of one of those times. And I feel like whenever I am obsessed with something my blog needs to know about it. So here it is. I can't stop. I keep going back and forth between the movie soundtrack and the 1987 New York soundtrack. I'm going out to purchase my own copy of the movie and a Les Mis t-shirt as we speak. Vive la France, guys. Les Mis is the greatest story ever written. Now I need to go read the book so I can really say that.

Easter

The sunshine hat these last few days have brought has been so refreshing. The world feels BIG again. The air is warm and clear. School is ending soon. Mission papers are being started. I feel the weight of the world upon me so much every day that I tend to run away. But Spring is helping me to cope. I can do this. I can.

And nothing helps life feel lighter like Easter Sunday. I got to attend the beautiful Ms. Sarah Bell's farewell and partake of her sister's heavenly cake bites afterwards. So there was that. Then I went to my grandma's house just like every year, followed people around with my camera as expected, and laughed  with the whole family like I always do.

It was grand. Speaking of grand, I have been teaching my sister how to speak French. She now refers to me as "grande soeur", herself as "petite soeur", and her dad as, "PEAR". It cracks me up. She is so cute.

This is an Easter tree.

Sarah looking dapper as always.

My mother is the most beautiful creature to ever exist. I love this woman.

Trin took her hair out the second we stopped taking pictures. She is a rugrat.
